Material and ingredients needed to make CBD cream:

• 50g dried CBD cannabis buds
• 60g beeswax
• 500ml of vegetable oil, we will use virgin olive oil
• 1 liter of water
• 3-5ml of essential oils
• 1 fine cheesecloth to strain

Step 1. Extraction of cannabinoids and terpenes in vegetable oil

The first step is to prepare a cannabis oil, that is, to dissolve the cannabinoids and terpenes present in the buds in a vegetable oil (it can also be sunflower, almond, coconut, etc.). The choice of the type of oil will depend on the availability and the specific properties that you want to give to the cream. Once we have our marijuana oil, we will mix it with the beeswax in step 2 to get our cream. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves, let’s go step by step!

After 2-3 hours in which we are constantly stirring, we proceed to strain the mixture to separate the vegetable matter from the liquid. To do this we will use a fine strainer and gauze to filter.

Step 2. Preparation of the CBD cream

We have our cannabis oil already separated from the water and in a solid state. Now we pour it into a saucepan and give it a gentle heat, just enough to return it to its liquid state. Once achieved, we add the essential oils that we want (a few milliliters will be enough!) while stirring gently, and add the beeswax while stirring over low heat. As you will see later, the beeswax will give the cream the right texture once the mixture has cooled down.

It is important NOT to use this type of cream in areas where there are mucous membranes, such as the inside of the mouth or nose.
