“Mothers need to be very careful when they eat during pregnancy,” said Patricia Albert, a senior author of the study from the University of California, Davis. “We know that a mother’s diet can affect the size of the baby’s brain early in life, but we wanted to know if there is also a health consequence for the baby’s brain later on.”
